The old Ski-Doos on these pages belong to my brother and myself. Our first experience with snowmobiles was in 1966, when our Grandpa bought a new Ski-Doo Olympique "S". We would have been 6-8 years old then.
In the early 70's, Grandpa left the sled at our parent's home, and we were able to ride it for several years after that. Due to the trouble of keeping it running, and other interests, it was parked. As the shed filled with other things, the old Ski-Doo was hauled out to the woods, and left with the junk.
Early in the winter of 1995-96, we decided to bring it back inside, and see if we could get it to run again.
A friend of my brother's knew we were working on this, and thought that with the two of us, we should have two sleds. He had a 66 we could have. We got both of them running and have had fun with them, considering the poor winters we have had the last few years.
More recently, we won an auction on ebay for a 1967 Ski-Doo Olympique. As it turned out, the seller had both the one on auction, and a '67 Super he would sell. Although this was a 299cc, rather than the 247cc like we had been accumulating parts for, we still had some room in our garages so we made a second trip ...
Since then, several other old sleds have been bought via ebay auctions, other internet ad sites, and friends.
They are not all currently running, but with time and work, they should. Stay tuned...
